Approved Electrician

Scope of Role:

To have the particular practical, productive and electrical engineering skills with adequate technical supervisory knowledge so as to be able to work on their own and manage a team proficiently and to carry out electrical installation work without immediate supervision in the most efficient and economical manner.

To be able to set out jobs from drawings and specifications and requisition the necessary materials; be able to accept responsibility for the proper completion of jobs and, if required, supervise other operatives.

MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. To diagnose and repair electrical problems in industrial, commercial electrical systems, including fault-finding, rewiring, and monitoring.
  2. Assess the materials needed for a job and place orders for them.
  3. Conduct routine maintenance and testing on industrial, commercial and domestic electrical systems, and ensure installations are to manufacturer standards & regulations.
  4. Ensure good quality workmanship which upholds company standards, complies with building codes, and follows safety requirements.
  5. Work alone to find and present faults and concerns in electrical systems without receiving explicit direction.
  6. To be involved with the day to day management of apprentices in your control, including conducting return to work, probationary and appraisal meetings.
  7. Provide exceptional customer service and answer any customer questions.
  8. Act as the key point of contact on site and liaise with the Project manager and on site staff on a day to day basis.
  9. Install electrical systems to 18th edition wiring regulations.
  10. Provide professional assessments and advice for customers.
  11. To be responsible for the Testing & Inspection certification.
  12. Possess working knowledge of BS7671:2018.
  13. Demonstrate familiarity with NICEIC requirements.
  14. To be aware of and comply with the Firstfield Quality Policy and the QMS policies and processes and to report any issues which have the potential to adversely impact the quality of the products and services supplied by Firstfield. To identify and suggest opportunities for improvement to the QMS and the products and services supplied by Firstfield
